Brazil, the Fifth Strategic Area
During a press conference held at the company’s head office in Québec, Mr. Daniel Nadeau, International Business Development Manager, explained that SOPREMA has been present since late 2013 in the South American country where business opportunities have increased dramatically in recent years. The sixth most densely populated country in the world with over 200 million citizens, Brazil is expected to see construction investments amounting to $1,000 billion (US) by 2022.
Targeted as one of five strategic areas by SOPREMA’s development plan along with the United Arab Emirates, South East Asia, China and Australia, this gateway to South America required SOPREMA to invest nearly one million dollars in development costs. A team of three people was assembled under the lead of Mr. Igor Maria Zotti, head of Brazil Business Development. In addition, the Brazilian SOPREMA team will benefit from the support of North American headquarters employees dedicated to international development.
